Michael Snyder's article is "right on the money" (pun intended).

Most traffic enforcement today is for $$$$$$, not safety. Speed limits are set artificially low, well under the normal safe speeds of travel, to set up speed traps for $$$$$$$$ with officers or cameras. Yellow light intervals are deliberately set too short for the actual traffic speeds to set up red light camera traps for $$$$$.

These actions are predatory, immoral, and a complete violation of the public trust.

This piece is a shameful justification of an egregious act of war by Israel against Syria. There is no justification. By the same logic, because Israel has untold military might ready to use in destroying its Arab neighbors, those countries are fully justified in bombing anything they please in Israel. Well if Israel's warlike penchant for destruction continues, its neigbors very well may have not only that right, but that imperative. He is also clueless about Hezbollah, implying their actions in the past were unjustified. Hezbollah was created as a resistance movement after israel invaded and occupied southern Lebanon up to the Litani River. Hezbollah has a right to defend their Lebanese homeland, you Israeli dimwit! If Israel doesn't like the fact that Iran and Syria ship weapons to Hezbollah, maybe they should give occupied Palestine back to the Palestinians, the Golan back to Syria, and stop fomenting their contant wars. It appears, the world will only know peace when Israel is militarily crushed.

And ignores the rock solid evidence that wind energy is more benign than nuclear energy disregarding anything to do with long-lasting radioactive isotopes and their disposal.

Iron ore is usually over 30% iron by weight. Most uranium ores are less than 1% uranium by weight, and less than 1% of that uranium is the isotope that can be split in commercial nuclear power plants. You have to dig a much larger hole to get a kilogram of reactor-ready uranium vs. a kilogram of wind-ready iron. And iron can be recycled indefinitely whereas uranium is actually destroyed as it produces energy in a reactor.

Does the great energy density of reactors vs. wind power actually work out to processing less ore over, say, a 100 year planning horizon? I don't have the numbers, and the author doesn't supply any either. She's playing an innumerate game of images just like the tribe she opposes, while posturing as smarter than the other tribe.

The only true fix to this will be:
A. A return to Sovereign Money - money produced, debt-free, by the Government, under the constitution's Article 1, Section 8 provision. This is what Lincoln used to produce the original Legal Tender during the Civil War - 40% of the currency at the time ($450 million) - when the NY Banks (them again!) wanted 26-34% interest. It was upheld by SCOTUS in Julliard v. Greenman (1884), and United States Notes were in fact produced 14 times until 1971 and in circulation until 1996, our longest-lasting form of currency. Two recent bills form Ray Lahood (then a Congressman) and Dennis Kucinich, would have allowed for the issuance of U.S. Notes again. When the corrupt banking system finally implodes for good, no amount of puny depositors funds will rescue it (the nominal size of the derivatives market is $1.2 quadrillion, and no one really knows how much of that will be "claimed" during a meltdown when "outliers" and "tail events" become the new normal).
B. On the State Level, a system of State Banks, funded by tax dollars and not covered by the FDIC - like the nearly 100-year old State Bank of North Dakota (founded 1919). This may turn out to be the only way to keep struggling small and medium banks afloat until they can replace the TBTF banks that, well, failed.

There are so many misleading statements and inaccuracies in this article its really not worth discussing. Suffice it to say that Mercer had no axe to grind, but clearly Donna Laframboise does.

The original Zenn car was indeed a low-speed vehicle, and would have been great for meter readers, bylaw enforcement officers, small package and pizza deliveries, etc.

Zenn is still looking for a big payday with their stake in EEStor's battery technology.

Rick was correct. Con's were not willing to consider it on the streets even in low speed area's. Nobody was trying to get it on the highways, but if you compared it to a scooter it would be a great small car for puttering around large urban centres.

And it was a Canadian made auto company that has exclusive stakes in revolutionary battery technology that would have scaled it up to be a competitor in the future. Good job killing local businesses.
